WHAT IS THE ISO 9001:2026 STANDARD?
The ISO 9001 Focus is a dedicated session to assess an organization’s level of readiness for the new requirements of ISO 9001:2026 during an ISO 9001:2015 certification audit.
Specifically, during an upcoming audit for the ISO 9001:2015 certification cycle, the auditor will set aside time to review the actions taken regarding the following three major changes:
- Strategic management: addressing the needs and expectations of stakeholders
- Risks and Opportunities: Steps to Seize Opportunities
- Quality Culture and Ethical Conduct: Initiatives to Promote and Raise Awareness Among Employees
This solution enables certified organizations to identify areas requiring further attention and to prepare to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2026 before undergoing a certification audit against the new version.
Please note: All active ISO 9001 certificates must be compliant with the 2026 version by the 36th month following the publication of the revised standard, which is expected between July and October 2026—that is, by the third quarter of 2029.
Any organization certified to ISO 9001:2015 by the AFNOR Group may request an ISO 9001 Focus audit (2026 version). This will involve additional time added to a follow-up audit or a certification renewal audit for ISO 9001:2015.
