WHAT IS THE ISO 14001:2026 FOCUS?
The ISO 14001 Focus is a dedicated session designed to assess an organization’s level of readiness for the new requirements of ISO 14001:2026 during an ISO 14001:2015 certification audit.
Specifically, during an upcoming audit of the ISO 14001 certification cycle under the 2015 version, the auditor will set aside time to review the actions taken regarding the following three major changes:
- Environmental Conditions: Challenges, Needs, and Expectations of Stakeholders
- Life Cycle Perspective: Identification of Environmental Aspects and their Degree of Influence Across the Entire Value Chain
- Change Planning: Management, Analysis, and Monitoring of Resulting Effects.
This solution enables certified organizations to identify areas requiring further attention and to prepare to meet the requirements of ISO 14001:2026 before undergoing a certification audit against the new version.
Please note: All active ISO 14001 certificates must be compliant with the 2026 version by the 36th month following the publication of the revised standard, which is expected in April 2026—that is, by the second quarter of 2029.
Any organization certified to ISO 14001:2015 by the AFNOR Group may request an ISO 14001 Focus audit (2026 version). This will involve additional time added to a follow-up audit or a certification renewal audit for ISO 14001:2015.
