Water, a new support issue
Morocco is facing an unprecedented water crisis linked to global climate change. Access to drinking water and the improvement of water infrastructures are major challenges facing the kingdom. Morocco is making steady progress in the management of its resources, and is stepping up its efforts to make water a national priority.
In its 5-year development plan, AFNOR Maroc has set itself the task of raising awareness among the various economic players of the efficient water management system, developed in the international reference standard ISO 46001, and of water footprint measurement, an innovative methodology explained in ISO 14046. " AFNOR's ambition is to contribute to improving water sobriety in economic activities and to support change, by generalizing water diagnostics, encouraging the use of water in closed circuits, and adapting the practices recommended by international standards to the country's specific features, alongside major industrial sites", comments Lilia Kriaa Lahlou, Director of AFNOR Morocco.
The " Eaux Minérales d'Oulmès " company also received a trophy during the evening. The company has been certified by the AFNOR Group since 1999 to ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 22000 standards.
