The AFNOR Group, founded in 1926, will celebrate the significant milestone of its 100th anniversary in 2026. To commemorate this century-long journey, AFNOR Asia hosted the “A Century of Legacy, Sustainable Standards” 100th-anniversary celebration in Taipei, inviting clients, partners, and distinguished guests from all sectors to gather together toto look back on AFNOR’s century-long journey in promoting standardization and to look ahead to the next century. For many years, AFNOR has helped organizations of all kinds improve quality, strengthen competitiveness, and pursue sustainable development through the promotion and practical application of standards.
This event welcomed Ms. Myriam, Chairwoman of AFNOR Asia; Dr. Tsai Chung-cheng, Vice Chairman; Mr. Antoine AUBEL, Director of the Economic Division at the French Institute in Taiwan; Mr. Stéphane PEDEN, General Manager of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry; as well as clients from Mongolia and various sectors in TaiwanUnder the theme “A Century of Heritage, Sustainable Standards,” the AFNOR Group’s 100th-anniversary celebration provided an opportunity to look back on the organization’s significant milestones over the past century and to witness a new chapter. The event also featured discussions on the vital role of standards in promoting industrial development, deepening international cooperation, and building trust, with perspectives drawn from standardization, Taiwan-France industrial cooperation, international exchange, and sustainable development.
The event also featured a certification ceremony for the ISO 46001 Water Efficiency Management System, during which Energy Resources LLC was awarded Mongolia’s first ISO 46001 certificate. This achievement combines the AFNOR Group’s century of expertise, AFNOR Asia’s regional capabilities, and AFNOR Mongolia’s local experience, demonstrating the tangible results created through international cooperation and the implementation of standards.
For over a century, AFNOR has continued to use standards to establish a common language and set of guidelines, laying the foundation for quality and trust in industry and society. In the face of global challenges such as climate change, the circular economy, digital transformation, and emerging technologies,AFNOR will draw on its century of expertise and experience to continue supporting innovation and deepening international cooperation, working hand in hand with partners in Taiwan and Asia to embrace the next century and jointly create a more resilient and sustainable future.
