⚖️ We would like to draw your attention to a very important ruling by the Piedmont Regional Administrative Court (TAR) (ruling no. 924/2024) which recognizes the PAS 24000:2022 standard as equivalent to the SA8000 standard for participation in tenders. The FSSC 24000 standard incorporates the internationally recognized independent PAS 24000 standard (Specification for Social Management Systems), which includes social performance requirements.

PAS 24000 and FSSC 24000 documents can be downloaded free of charge from the FSSC website.

📌 In detail, the regional administrative court upheld the appeal of a company excluded from a tender procedure for failing to present SA8000 certification, even though it was in possession of PAS 24000:2022 certification.

🔍 According to the Tribunal, PAS 24000 - although not a UNI or ISO standard - is a UNI-recognized practice that provides clear guidelines for social responsibility, in line with the requirements of SA8000. It should therefore be considered as a technically equivalent certification.

✅ A declaration that paves the way for new opportunities for PAS 24000-certified companies, reinforcing the validity of this system also in the context of public procurement.
