June 7 is World Food Safety Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness and promoting food safety worldwide.
Food safety is a major global issue, affecting the health and well-being of millions of people.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 600 million people fall ill every year after eating contaminated food, and around 420,000 people die every year as a result.
World Food Safety Day aims to raise public awareness of the risks associated with consuming contaminated food, and to encourage governments, businesses and individuals to take action to ensure food safety.
Measures to ensure food safety include sustainable farming practices, rigorous quality controls, strict food safety standards, effective government regulations and increased public awareness.
Food safety is a global issue that requires international cooperation to resolve. Governments, businesses and international organizations must work together to ensure that the food we eat is safe and healthy.
On this World Food Safety Day, the AFNOR group is organizing webinars with Laurent CAMBEROU (AFNOR CERTIFICATION) and Jonathan Motillon (AFNOR INTERNATIONAL) on these topical subjects: Food Safety Culture and the evolution of the main certification standards.
A major competition will accompany this awareness-raising operation, providing an opportunity to highlight your good practices that contribute to the advancement of food safety.
